Brightshores Research Institute is proud to participate in the Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services (NLHS) Health Innovation Summit, taking place from November 3 to 6, 2025, at the Health Innovation Acceleration Centre in St. John’s.

The Summit brings together leaders, researchers, and innovators to explore the latest advancements across the healthcare system. This year’s event features parallel tracks focused on cancer care, pediatrics, community care and rural healthcare, and acute care. At Brightshores Research Institute, we believe “rural is different—and that’s a strength.”  Neil MacLean, Executive Director, will share his expertise on the unique strengths of these rural communities and the systemic challenges they continue to face. His remarks will focus on advancing equity, improving access, and supporting innovation in rural healthcare, reflecting the Institute’s mission to transform rural healthcare and wellness through collaboration and forward-thinking solutions.

Attendees will include provincial health executive leadership, government officials, academic researchers, healthcare industry experts, frontline staff and management, and strategic innovation partners. The Summit aims to generate actionable solutions that improve patient outcomes, increase system efficiency, and accelerate the adoption of innovative practices across diverse healthcare settings.

Neil’s participation reflects Brightshores Research Institute’s commitment to advancing rural healthcare and wellness and working across sectors to build a health system that is inclusive, effective, and responsive to all communities.

We recognize that we can’t do it alone. Progress depends on shared purpose and strong partnerships. Brightshores Research Institute is grateful for the opportunity to join like-minded individuals committed to building a stronger, more equitable healthcare system through this important dialogue.
